case details:

Hartwell was last seen on November 28, 2001 between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. in the vicinity of 94 Harrison-Jefferson Road in Columbia, Mississippi.  She was seen getting into a green 4-door Saturn with tinted windows.  Hartwell walked her children to the bus stop and was supposed to babysit her nephew for her sister while she went to a job interview. Hartwell’s sister later arrived at the apartment to find the door unlocked, the bathtub full with water, and clothes set out for her son. It appeared that Hartwell was preparing to give her nephew a bath when he got there but was interrupted.

Hartwell’s sister was sure that she would not have left without thinking she would return in enough time to watch her nephew. Her family became even more alarmed when she did not return before her children got off of school that day. Her family said that she would not abandon her children under any circumstance. They reported her missing quickly.

At the time of her disappearance, Hartwell was in the process of leaving an abusive relationship with a male by the name of Katron. She had also recently had a falling out with her friend, Lawanda. Hartwell was seen on the day of her disappearance getting into the green Saturn with Lawanda. She has not been seen or heard from since. Her case remains unsolved at this time.
