At approximately 12:44 a.m. on June 23, 2019, officers were called to a boat ramp at Silver Street and D.A. Biglane Street in reference to a white male walking around the barricades and into an area of the street that was flooded. When officers arrived, Judy Martin stated that she and King were walking on Silver Street towards D.A. Biglane Street when they approached the flooded street. King went around the barricades to see if he could wade through the water to get to the other side. Martin said that King made it to the “Do Not Enter” sign that was posted on the boat ramp on the D.A. Biglane Street side when he went under the water and did not resurface. King is presumed deceased but his body has not been recovered.
