case details:

Young was last seen in Jonestown, Mississippi on July 23, 1990. He lived and worked on the Alcorn Russell farm. During the night, he left his home driving his dark blue 1976 Ford Maverick.

Witnesses reported seeing Young drive out of town with a 17-year-old female acquaintance. When questioned on August 7, she said she had robbed Young with a 15-year-old male accomplice at the Silver Saver grocery store in Tutwiler, Mississippi. She said they had beaten Young to death on August 1st, which was a week after he was last seen.

Both teens were arrested and held for Young’s murder but at the time there was little evidence to support their stories without being able to locate Young’s body or vehicle.

On August 24th, Young’s vehicle was located near Friar’s Point, Mississippi about 50 yards from the Mississippi River. The grass had grown high around the vehicle as if it had been parked there for some time. A few days later, Young’s shoes, car keys, and pants were found. Law enforcement drug the river in the are the car and personal items were found; however, his body was not located. Without Young’s body, the two teens were released from jail. Young’s disappearance has never been solved.
