Buchanan was last seen on January 4, 2000, in Hollandale, Mississippi. He was drinking and driving and was pulled over on rural Highway 436 by a law enforcement officer. Buchanan initially stopped and then sped off as the officer approached. During the chase, Buchanan crashed his car into a ditch and then ran off on foot. Buchanan has never been seen or heard from again. His case remains unsolved at this time. He is considered endangered and foul play is a possibility.
