Martin spoke to her mother at approximately 8:40 p.m. on May 27, 2005, via telephone. Martin was living at the Robinson Place Apartments in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at the time. Her roommate stated that Martin left to attend a graduation party with a male named Kevin kennedy. She never returned. Her roommate stated that Martin was acting normal at the time of her disappearance.
Martin had purchased a bus ticket on May 24, 2005, that would leave about a week later so that she could visit her mother in Denver, Colorado. Martin never boarded the bus.
Authorities believe that she may have left on her own accord but her family does not agree. They state that they had frequent contact with Martin prior to her disappearance and do not believe that she would make them worry about her well-being if she were safe. Her mother has passed away since the time of Martin’s disappearance. Other family members still have not heard from Martin. Her case remains unsolved at this time.
