case details:

Levitz was last seen on November 18th, 1995 by a clerk at a business in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She purchased wallpaper for her new home and left the store. She has not been seen or heard from since. Two days later, on November 20th, she was found to be missing when a relative was unable to reach her by phone and drove over to check on her. When the relative arrived, the door was found open and authorities were called. Authorities found signs of a brutal struggle inside of the home. There were fingernails on the floor that had been torn off and Levitz’s mattress and carpet were soaked in blood. The mattress had been flipped over in an attempt to conceal the bloodstain. Very valuable items such as diamonds and fur coats were left behind in the home. Levitz’s purse and makeup were missing. Her car was still in the driveway.

Authorities and loved ones believe that Levitz was the victim of a homicide and her body may have been thrown into the Mississippi River which ran near her home. Levitz was declared legally dead in 2000. No charges have been filed in her disappearance and her body has not been recovered.
