Ales was last seen walking near her home on Kyle Road on January 14, 1991, in Batesville, Mississippi. Her postal carrier noticed that her mailbox was beginning to fill up and contacted local law enforcement to check her welfare.
There was no indication of a disturbance at her home and nothing appeared to have been missing. It appeared that Ales had already eaten breakfast earlier in the day and was beginning to prepare lunch when she disappeared. Ales has not been located but due to her age at the time of her disappearance, she is presumed deceased. Her case remains unsolved.
